PUDUCHERRY -- A five-party front comprising of CPI, CPI(M), RSP, VCK and MDMK has been formed in Puducherry headed by Secretary of the Puducherry State committee of the CPI, R Viswanathan.

Talking to reporters along with leaders of the constituents of the new front here, Viswanathan said the front had been named as "Joint Front for Welfare of People of Puducherry" and very soon a detailed action plan would be released.

Viswanathan said that it has been seen that the country has been held to ransom by "corrupt and anti-people administration by the NDA rule at the Centre". The policies the previous Congress regime had adopted were being 'adhered to, in letter and spirit' by the Narendra Modi led government.

He said that leaders of the five parties who have come under the banner of the joint movement had met yesterday and finalised the plan to launch the movement and very soon mass propaganda would be taken up.

He said that neither the DMK nor the AIADMK had been able to measure up to the expectations of the people while being in power and the new front would train its guns against these two dravidian parties also.
